Danube Transnational Programme - First call
The first call for project proposals in the framework of the Danube Transnational Programme for the period 2014-2020, worth 222 million EUR, was opened on 23rd September, 2015.
The deadline for submission of the Expressions of Interest: 3rd November, 2015.
The goal of the Program: To contribute to the implementation of the Macro-regional strategy for the Danube Region.
The Danube Region
14 countries (nine EU member states: Austria, Germany - State of Baden-Wuerttemberg and Bavaria, the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia, and five non-EU member states: Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and the Republic of Moldova, four Danube provinces of Ukraine). Programmes of transnational cooperation include the territory of whole countries or only their parts, and involve cooperation of local, regional and national institutions.
Programme priorities
1. Innovative and socially responsible Danube Region
Examples: Eco-innovation, knowledge transfer, cluster policy, social innovation and skilled entrepreneurship including technological and non-technological innovation aspects.
2. Environment and culture responsible Danube Region
Examples: Preserving and managing the diversity of natural and cultural assets in the Danube Region, the creation and/or maintenance of ecological corridors of transnational relevance in the Danube Region, the control of environmental risk factors such as climate change and flood risks, disaster prevention and disaster management (risk management), environmental crisis management.
3. Better connectivity and energy responsible Danube Region
Examples: Improving regional connectivity to the TEN-T network, environmentally friendly transport systems, regional energy planning and coordination,
4. Well-governed Danube Region
Examples: Strengthening transnational governance in areas with major social challenges, more effective management of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region and the development of complex transnational projects.
Call budget - 76 million EUR from the ERDF (ERDF countries, i.e. EU members) and 7.5 million EUR from IPA (IPA countries, i.e. Serbia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Montenegro). The maximum EU contribution amounts to 85%.
Project partners - At least three financing partners from three different countries of the programme area, of which at least one (the lead partner) from the EU member state of the programme area.
The maximum duration of projects - 30 months.
Eligible partners – local, regional and national public bodies, international organizations, private entities (including private companies).
Timeframe
The deadline to submit a simplified application form (Expression of Interest) is 3rd November, 2015.
